Acupuncture
Why does acupuncture work: Leading PA expert weighs in on the benefits of acupuncture
One of the oldest forms of medicine currently practiced in the world today. Acupuncture is the placement of needles slightly beneath the skin with the intention of re-directing life energy or Qi. The basic tenet of Chinese medicine is that your personal life energy or Qi travels along “meridians” or channels in your body and when that flow is interrupted or the pathway is changed, disease or pain may result. Acupuncture treatment seeks to restore the natural balance in your Qi and thus restore balance to the part of the body that has been affected.
Acupuncture is most commonly used to heal chronic pain of the joints or muscles, headaches, and systemic illnesses of the body. It has also been used to help with weight loss and weight management, recovery from addictions, and may other difficulties. If you have a medical or personal issue and cannot seem to find help, call us to find out if acupuncture is for you.

Dr. Danny T Khounh is an Acupuncturist and a Research Scientist with over 27 years of experience in research and development with a strong background in understanding of molecular technology, genetics, and biochemistry. He has 22 years of experience in Acupuncture and Oriental medicine, 12 years of using this experience to provide service to professional athletic teams and individual athletes. He is a provider for United For Her a nonprofit for breast cancer and a consultant for the Doylestown Hospital.
His journey began in Cambodia. He was exposed to alternative medicine at a very young age. He was a son of a medicine man of three villages and a midwife healer in Cambodia. His parents only used herbs and other natural healing methods to treat ailing people. Early in his life Dr. Khounh was able to see and experience the power of alternative medicine. He had the opportunity to learn some of the art from his parents. When he came to the US, he started his journey with science and a strong drive to help people in a similar way his parents did.
He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biology (premed) from Cabrini College and started his research and development in a biotech company. In pursuit of medical education instead of going to allopathic medicine, he chose to pursuit his graduate studies in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Texas Health and Science University. He had finally found a way to fulfill his desire to follow in his parents’ footsteps. As he continued his scientific career, in 2002 he graduated from Texas Health and Science University with a master’s of science in oriental medicine MSOM. This was the beginning of his career in acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Dr. Khounh acquired his doctorate in acupuncture and oriental medicine in 2019. Having a strong back ground in western science and acupuncture and oriental medicine he integrates eastern medicine and western scientific knowledge to address the whole human body.
All in all, Dr. Khounh brings the eastern and western disciplines together to provide holistic therapeutic approach to his patients.
